One of the biggest matches played in UEFA Champions League Round 6 is taking place in Munich this Tuesday. The reigning Bundesliga champions are going against the first favourite to win the whole competition, Paris SG. This duel is going to decide which side is entering the playoffs from 1st place and possibly avoid some of the tough opponents. So far the odds are on the side of the Saints.
Unai Emery’s team has finally shown a sign of weakness during the weekend in Ligue 1. Strasbourg have caused a massive upset and defeated PSG 2-1 at home. Still, Saints are having huge advantage over the other teams in the division. When it comes to their UCL campaign, results are more than impressive – five victories and super – dominant 24-1 goal difference. The only team which bagged a goal against PSG this season in UCL was Celtic.
The first clash between these two teams was heavily one-sided. Team from France took an easy 3-0 victory at home thanks to the goals scored by Dani Alves, Cavani and Neymar.
Bavarians also have a decent lead when it comes to their domestic campaign. Bayern are sitting at the top of the table with 32 points, while the 2nd placed squad RB Leipzig has 26. However, they had a small bump on the road two weeks ago, suffering an unexpected 2-1 loss on the road to Mgladbach. FCB hosted PSG only once in the last 20 years. That duel was played in 2000 and Germans took an easy 2-0 win.
